Why can't I find the built in apps? (google chrome, Gmail...)

I bought the galaxy note today and
google chrome and gmail isn't listed under "apps"
the only way im able to open them is by going to google play store and hit "open".
I want to put chrome in the dock area as my default browser, but its not in my apps section.

Go into apps and look under Google. It will expand and show this'd other apps.
