Why cant I get faster internet?

[Android Central Question]

I have an LG Pheonix 3(M150) and it only sticks to 2G internet.
Ive tried dialing *#*#4636#*#* but it says phone info can't work.
In my settings it doesn't have the network mode option so I cant change in stuck on Edge.
What do I do???

What carrier are you with? I see a spec sheet that says the phone supports bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 29.

Your carrier is the wireless company you're using, like Verizon, or T-Mobile, or AT&T, or Vodafone. Which one do you have? If you're the one responsible for paying for your service, then you should know. If someone else is responsible, then ask them.

The problem is that your phone doesn't support Safaricom's 3G or 4G bands:

Safaricom uses Band 1 for 3G, and Bands 3 & 20 for 4G. Your phone doesn't support any of those. You'll need to get a new phone that supports Safaricom's bands to get 3G or 4G data.
