Why can't I mirror my Moto Z Play onto a smart tv?

I have gone through four different dongles from Best Buy to no avail. I need help from someone who is familiar with this phone and who is patient, please. Thank you!!!

I don't know which dongles you're trying, but about the only way to cast a Z Play to TV is Chromecast. Use Google Home to do the mirroring.

I have a Vizio TV with Chromecast built in. I cannot screen cast to the TV unless it's YouTube or using my Hulu app. I just get a black screen if I try to cast my phone while browsing the internet. I can mirror my Samsung Galaxy tablet but the video is choppy.

Not sure what to tell you. I have a Z-Play Droid that casts just fine to my VIZIO TV.
