Why can't I move my apps from my Internal storage to my SD card?

Hi. I just got the Huawei Y6 2018 and I'm seeming to have some trouble moving apps to my SD card my pictures and all see working perfectly fine but I can't move my apps to my SD card. Why?

Welcome to Android Central! Not all phones support the Move to SD feature. If you don't see that option in the Settings>Apps menu, then the phone doesn't support it. Are you able to format the card as Internal Storage (rather than Portable Storage)? That would be an alternative.

Storing apps on the SD Card has been hit or miss with Android for years. Different Android versions and phones have had different rules for this.

It's been my understanding most phones won't let you move apps to the SD Card unless set as adoptable storage(phone essentially believes its additional internal storage and the card gets encrypted to only be read by that phone) since Android 6. Some manufacturers like Samsung never enables adoptable storage because the SD cards are much slower than internal storage and would cause negative effects on performance.
