Why can't i play music on video's through my ear/headphones

So i have a Samsung Galaxy S6, and i realised that when i am playing music with earphones plugged in, and i try record a video, the video doesn't record the music in it.

I always see people on snapchat playing music while recording videos with earphones plugged in and i can hear their music, so i was just wondering does this not work with this phone or is there a problem

Are you sure music isn't added later? That would the first time I hear about recording music while recording the video.
