Why can't I receive or see text messages?

Hi, I've been having this problem with my sms on LG Optimus L70. I've can text my friend who has an iPhone but, I can't receive his messages but I can send. I can't see his texts or get any notifications. He says that he sent them I've seen it be done but, I still can't see them. My sister has an iPhone and I can text her fine, not sure why I can't text him. I can also text other androids but why can't I see his text? (kik uses too much data for him.) Thanks (-:

You might have accidentally blocked your friend. Check your security settings and message settings

Ask your friend to send you another text, but before he or she does, ask them to make sure that SMS is checked for you. Otherwise, the message is being sent via iMessage, which is not compatible with Android.

Welcome to Android Central!

Have you checked to see if you put his number on your block list? Go in to the settings of the messaging app and check the block number list to see if it is on there.
