Why can't I reinstall my apps?

When my android tablet rebooted because the battery died, I lost all my apps, so I tried to reinstall them and I can't. A message pops up saying 'insufficient space in device'. I deleted everything I could from the tablet even cleared the cache, history, and anything I could. It didn't work. I still can't install the apps.

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet? Does it have a microSD card, and were a lot of your apps moved to SD? When you say you deleted things, do you mean you uninstalled apps, or you deleted files like photos and documents?
