While talking on the phone? Mms won't send until I get off the phone?

I think this phone doesn't support simultaneous data and voice as far as I know... That would be why

Go into your settings; and make sure Advanced calling is on and also your data. I have Verizon and no problems sending pics (MMS) while talking on phone. This phone does support Voice and data at same time on Verizons network. I keep wifi and data on.

You may have to turn on Advanced Calling via Verizon. They have to turn on something on their end too. You might be able to do it online.

It is free, and will allow video calls to another VoLTE phone

It DOES support it on Verizons network. Just make sure Advanced calling is activated. You can do it from your phone. And keep data and wifi both on. Wifi takes over when data is not needed.

Yep I can verify it works! Activate advanced calling and boom it works!

wow....and here the GSM networks (AT&T, T-Mobile) have supported that feature all along.

It took until VoLTE came along for VZW and Sprint to be able to do this, and people are amazed. But first they have to turn on VoLTE on their phones...hmmmm, T-Mobile users don't have to. It Just Works when appropriate. And in the meantime, they do simultaneous voice and data without thinking about it, just like they have for years.

Wow.

that's not correct. VZW did simultaneous voice and data on CDMA and LTE for years. VoLTE is different than simultaneous voice and data. VoLTE allowed for a higher quality of voice communication, and the addition of built in video calling.

However, if you have a VoLTE phone, then you have to turn on that feature to do simultaneous voice and data. With a non-VoLTE phone you can do simultaneous data on a VZW phone with no problem. And with a VoLTE verizon phone you can too, you just need to turn that on.

And it isn't just marketing hype, there is a very distinct audio difference on a VoLTE to VoLTE call

Have a friend who is having problems with Tmobile sending pics. Why does she have to turn wifi OFF in order to send mms? I know we can keep both wifi and data on (Verizon) and it sends pics (mms) no problem. But she has to turn her wifi off first or hers will not send. Is that how tmobile is working? She's new to android coming from iphone.

Relating to T-mobile version, You don't have to turn wifi off but the data does need to be on. A little bit of an inconvenience to make sure data is on when your mindful to keep it off to save data. When I was on Sprint before switching to Tmo for V10, they allowed sending mms on wifi only.

Verizon was able to do it by adding an additional radio into the phone. CDMA can only handle voice or data at one time. I will explain more below.

GSM Carriers (AT&T / T-Mobile) – Both can use voice and data at the same. Either on HSPA or on LTE (using VoLTE).
CDMA Carriers (Sprint / Verizon) – These carriers can only handle voice or data. Not both at the same time… Unless using VoLTE. Verizon currently has VoLTE whereas Sprint doesn’t. You may be asking – why is this? My old phone did this... which I am sure it did. A more detailed explanation is below.
[INFO]The older phones had two CDMA radios put in them (such as the S3 on Sprint). One dedicated to voice -- another dedicated to data. Therefore you could do voice and data. GSM has always been one radio because that one radio can do both tasks at the same time. They got around it on CDMA by simply adding another radio in there and dedicating each one to one task.
Now they're getting rid of that second CDMA radio. So therefore you can only use talk, or data -- not both at the same time. Now if you're using VoLTE for your calls it will allow voice and data since the call will be going through LTE (as data) so it is technically then all data which would bypass this restriction.[/INFO]
