Why can't I send pictures in non-default photo albums?

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S6.
When I try to send a picture through text or any other messaging app (Kik and Snapchat) I sometimes can't send them.
I have figured out that the problem is when the album they are in isn't camera, screenshots, or download.
If it is an album I have specifically created, is in private mode, or is an album that is made by another app I can't send them.
Anyone know how to fix this? I have had this phone for 2 years and the problem didn't start until about a week ago.

Welcome to Android Central! Do those albums typically show up in your Gallery app? If the Gallery app can't see them, then they probably won't show up when you want to attach a photo from that album.
