Why can't I send/receive mms messaging

I just recently purchased the galaxy note 5, however I cannot send or receive messages.

I tried (sending/receiving) to my friends with an iphone, and other galaxy models.
When I sent to someone with a note 4, i was able to send, however not receive.

Anybody know why???

Ensure your APN settings are correct for your carrier. Also ensure mobile data is active.

I have Verizon Wireless. Where do I find APN settings at?

I have found APN settings, however after about an hour of research, Verizon has blocked the use of APN edit. Should I go to the Verizon store to get it fixed, or is there an app that will allow me to bypass this?

No, I had an Android before (transferred my phone number from Straight Talk), I got off with Verizon tech support and they said it takes a few days for all features to go though. I'm able to send / receive mms through Verizon wireless carries only right now, they said within 24 hours I should be able to mms other carriers. Should I believe that?

Okay, so just wait then? How long should I wait before I really get concerned?
