AC Question
Can't Send/Receive MMS when on WiFi
This has been discussed elsewhere but I have not come across a solution. I will be as specific as possible in order to give someone enough info. to hopefully assist:
I am on AT&T's network. I had a Galaxy S3. It worked as we all expect our cell phones to work. I had unlimited texting and a set amount of data. I could send and receive texts (MMS) with pictures, short videos, emojis...etc. while on Wifi or on the cellular network.
I then upgraded my phone and purchased a Galaxy S5. Same scenario - all worked as expected (still does). I sent my old Galaxy S3 to my sister in FL. She is on Consumer Cellular (AT&T's network). They sent her a new sim card and phone is functional with one caveat; whenever I send her a MMS (anything with an emoji or a picture or any attachment) Consumer Cellular told her she has to switch her WiFi off in order to download the MMS, Sure enough, she switches her WiFi off and it downloads fine. I NEVER HAD TO DO THIS. Why now does she have to do this? This would almost seem to be a set-up by the cellular company hoping you forget to turn your WiFi back on and eventually go over on whatever plan you've purchased.
I could understand if I had the same problem but the same phone worked when I had it (seemingly on the same network) but now does not. Is it related to the specific data plan or is it something associated with Consumer Cellular even though they piggy back on AT&T's network?
Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
