Why can't I unlock my HD 7 memo pad?

[AC Question]

I cannot unlock my hd7 memo pad

The touch screen seems to be working but when i go to slide the padlock icon it does nothing at all. I can slide at the top of the screen, near the date and time etc but it doesn't get me anywhere. I have turned the tablet off, let the battery completely die and fully charged it but nothing seems to work. Help pleeeasee

Welcome to Android Central! When you try to swipe the lock icon, does it actually move? It it doesn't, the digitizer might be failing. If it does move, are you swiping it all the way to the side?
