I have an Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL, currently running firmware version 5.1.1-d6UUPU0. I've been trying to update it to 5.1.1-20161102_104309. (theoretically the next).
I am able to get it downloaded, and it installs about halfway before i get the error screen, that says:
E:erasing foa.status faied errno=2
Finding update package
Opening update package
Verifying update package
Installing update…
Verifying current system…
“/system/priv-app/AdaptClient.apk” has nexpected contents
E:Error in @/cache/recovery/block.map
(status 7)
Installation aborted
E;unknown volume for path [@/cache/recovery/block.map]

I was told that it meant my phone didn't know where to put the new version. So i've tried to wipe cache, and i get a screen saying "E:format_volume failed to unmount “/cache”
Cache wipe complete"
I've tried factory reset, both from the phone and the log screen (after error screen) and updating in safe mode.
I'm not sure if it was ever rooted, i took it wen my husband got a phone update, but i haven't since resetting.
Is there a way to fix this error, or download the update on my computer and update that way (I've checked the manufactures website, and it seems to not even acknowledge they made the phone)?
