Does anyone else have a problem with getting their N4 to see music that you have added manually to the device? In google music or amazonplayer that i use both say i have no music on the device when i have. Oddly, i can play it via the file manager but only as a clip rather than through the player applications themselves with all their functionality. I've tried moving the music files around including do the android/data/music file but it still doesn't see it.

Any ideas?

The only way I have used Google Music is that I have to upload music from my computer to Google Music. Once that happens I can see the tunes. So if you put music on your phone, by means of plugging in your phone and placing music on the HD, it won't be recognized through Google music and I would assume the same with the Amazon player.

I hope that makes sense.

I think that's right RoF - the guidance does say to add music via your pc so i hope that works. Bit of a pain though as this is music that i'd added direct to my previous HTC so isn't on my PC. Guess i could just plug the N4 in to the PC as an extra drive and add it that way. Hmm, there's an idea - thanks for the prompt!

Google Music didnt work for me b/c it didnt see the one playlist i wanted to add to my N4. i went the double twist, using airsync to load the music onto my N4. works so far.

i'm having the same issue now. it used to work fine because google music was my default music player. all of a sudden it won't see music on my device now.

I copy MP3s to my N4 by attaching the N4 to my PC with a usb cable and then copying the musing from my PC's drive to the N4's 'Music' folder or whatever it's named. Google player sees the files no problem.
