Android Central Question

New Pixel 6 Pro. Phone can see my Xfinity wifi but will not connect. I have a second wifi network (not Xfinity) and it connects to that with no problems. Have seen that this may be an issue with Google phones?

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- are you trying to connect with your own personal wi-fi network (with an SSID you created), or are you trying to connect to the public Xfinity wi-fi hotspot that all Xfinity routers broadcast (unless you manually disabled that)? My provider is Comcast Xfinity. My router is a Netgear Orbi Mesh. When I set up my Pixel 6 Pro and entered my Wi-Fi password when connecting to my router, my Wi-Fi has worked just fine for the past 3 months.

Hi, thank you, I am the OP. This is my first Pixel phone. I am trying to connect the phone to my personal wi-fi network. It has located the network but when I enter the password, it runs the authentication step and then says it cannot connect. I have a second wi-fi network (not Xfinity) and it connects to that one just fine. But that one is slower so I would prefer to use the Xfinity. I am using Xfinity’s router. I prefer not to connect to an unsecured hotspot. Thank you for any ideas.

First, try rebooting your router by unplugging its power for about 30 seconds. If that doesn't help, then try temporarily removing the password protection and see if the phone can connect then.

Thank you. I changed my router password and then rebooted it, and now the phone connects. Whew! Thanks for the responses!
