why cant my samsung galxay 5 find my laptop hotspot ?

i have set up wifi from my laptop but for some reason my phone cant find the laptop wifi so i can connect to it. can any one help me?

Usually it goes the opposite way - the phone is the hotspot to provide internet for the computer.

How is the computer getting the internet connection? Most computers can't act as a WiFi client AND host at the same time.
