Why can't the social apps use mobile data?

why cant the social apps not use mobile data?

My phone's social apps can't use mobile data. When turn on my mobile data I can use all browsers on my phone but I cant use any social app. When I connect to wifi everything is okay. What could be the problem?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Data Usage, select one of your social apps that isn't working, and make sure "Restrict Background Data" isn't checked on.

Hi there,

I'm using Nexus 5 (KitKat) & I'm also facing the same problem.I can not access any social media apps like whats app, messenger, hike etc. "Restrict Background Data" also isn't checked on, in any of those apps. Please provide me with a solution.
