why did google play service stop working on my lg g4 ?

whenever I try to use google play store, I get a error message --unfortunately google play store has stopped.

Does this persist after a reboot? How about in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21962

it does persist after reboot or a full shut down. I don't get a safe mode option.

So if you press the Power button to shut the phone off, then long-press the Power Off option in the menu that comes up, you don't get a Safe Mode prompt, as described in the above link?

You have to long press on the screen

thanks4 the help .now I know how to get to safe mode. still couldn't fix issue so I just did a factory reset after backing up personal stuff.

If the factory reset doesn't clear things up, then it might be a firmware issue, since Safe Mode essentially eliminates problems caused by 3rd party apps.
