Android Central Question
I checked it out. The Nokia 6 had just updated to oreo8 - others had the same problems.
I had downloaded trial version of Poweramp app, - another recommended app for flexibility with HTC, plus quality and simplicity. Pushed the jack in to almost the last click, and somehow the phones started working, then fully in. The Oreo update snarl up fixed.
But what used to be the skip back n forth buttons on earbud remote turned into the volume up n down buttons! Did more reading and some bright person said to double and triple click the middle button to get track skip ( which is the play/pause/ answer the phone button on 1 click). So the same old earbuds now additionally control volume as well as track skip! I'm chuffed.
So, not being a techno person, with a little reading and $5 for the full version of Poweramp, I've solved a problem. No need to buy more earbuds!!
For those who don't have earbuds these r recommended. HTC RC E 240 wired, (or Xaomi Piston V 21 with rooted phone)
