Why did Samsung went with no-expandable memory?

Why are some many phone manufacturers turning over to non-expandable memory?

Android as been going away from that for a while.

The s7 is rumoured to have one though.

because Samsung lost their way this year and went with form over function.

with the exception of Samsung, nexus and the new one plus 2 all other manufacturers are still offering micro sd expansion.
