Why did the screen of my samsung a3 suddenly dark without dropping or falling off

I was just watching a movie on my samsung a3 and suddenly the screen started fading,then before day break, the screen is totally dark and the menu and back always light up[

Sounds like a hardware issue, sounds like the backlight went. Do you have a warranty still or insurance?
