Why did you pick the D2 over the Incredible?

I read a lot of bad reviews on the D-inc battery life. That and the fact that D2 comes stock w/ 2.2 made my mind up.
HTC and horrible batteries is veey common. The batteries they choose for their phones are too small for the phones. Look at the specs for something like the dinc and d2. You'll find the d2 has a larger battery. This is most often the case.

Yeah their is no reason the dinc came with that small battery when the extended battery from the eris fit under the battery door and that was like a 1730

Two things I like about the Incredible that the D2 doesn't have is:

1. The Incredible gives the option to download files to the SDcard, internal storage, or phone storage.

2. The Incredible comes with HTC sync which allows you to sync your Outlook calendar and contacts directly with your PC.

The water live wallpaper on the Incredible has fog, I like that too.

EDIT: It wasn't the water live wallpaper, it was the sense weather widget. I have beautiful widgets which gives me the same thing, but now I see the Incredible has a windshield wiper when it rains.

Dropped Dinc for D2

My first Android phone was a DInc. I took it back after 3 weeks and picked up the D2, for two reasons: Battery Life and screen visability. As everyone mentiones, the stock battery for the DInc is terrible, just terrible. The second drawback to me was that you cant see the DInc screen in the sunlight. It's a beautiful screen indoors, no question....but outside? It was like looking at the back of the phone lol.

The D2 battery is just super or anything, but it gets me through the day. And I can see the screen in the sunshine, so thats a plus. I will say that the DInc is faster, and seems more responsive, and I knew that going into the trade. I just felt the D2 is a more usable phone for my personal needs.

Incredible sold out

The Incredible wasn't available and I was sick of my Omnia.

I never really looked into the Incredible though like I did the Droid 2.

My situation exactly. Went into the Verizon store with full intention to leave with the Incredible. Turned out they had no more in stock. So I said I'll take the Droid X. Same story. All sold out. That's how I ended up with a Droid 2. Not a real problem, though. I'm loving the Droid 2 so far, and in 2 years, I'll happily upgrade to whatever is the latest and greatest by then.

I was more concerned with the battery life. The Droid 2 has the best battery life of all the Droid devices. I also wanted a physical keyboard for a change. However, getting the Incredible never occurred to me.

According to laptop magazine the Droid X has the best battery life, the D2 is 3rd.

That was just a test with the web browser, plus they weren't running the same OS. According to the specs on the Verizon website, the D2 has better battery. Same with CNET, Phonearena, and every other tech site. You may want to check again.

Check what again? No matter what other site I look at, Laptop magazine says the DX has the best battery.
The specs don't necessarily matter, the proof is the actual performance.
Laptopmag tested to see which phone died first, it doesn't matter what test they performed as long as the tests were the same.

So you are saying that even though Motorola, Verizon, and all of the tech sites indicate that the battery life for the D2 is greater than the X, you are going to stick with the stats of one site that did a test that was subjective? Ok dude.

Well i must say that i like the KeyBoard.. Plus i watched a ton of reviews and it seemed that the Droid 2 was just as good. So i jumped at it. Cant complain yet, eventhough i am still a Newbie, We are talking 4 days in...

I am a fan of HTC devices, but the aren't made as well as Motorola devices especially the Droid 2. This device is so solid.

i'm getting my droid 2 shipped to me tomorrow and i chose it over the droid x, incredible, etc because of one thing that i require: physical keyboard. i know over time i'll use the touchscreen more but for my personal requirement, a physical keyboard is a must. touchscreens go out more often than a keyboard and if the screen goes out at least i still have the keyboard to do basic functions until my replacement device arrives unlike a phone with a touchscreen, you're dead in the water until the replacement device arrives. my 2 cents of course

My thing with going physical keyboard was the screen space. With the iPhone everytime I went landscape the damned keyboard takes up all the screen so it only leaves like 15-20% of the actual screen viewable. Posting on forums and having to quote things or check to make sure the paragraph I just typed was clear of errors was just too much a pain. The instant I tried a coworkers D2 and saw I can type while still seeing the full screen I was sold, and still am :)

Rev.

enough said right there. This is so valuable when trying to type and view something simultaneously.

For me it was the keyboard. And while MotoBlur is good, I'm trying LauncherPro right now and am really liking the customizations available.

Any thoughts on the picture quality of the Droid 2 vs. the Incredible? I believe the Droid 2 is 5MP, and the Incredible is 8MP.

I actually originally opted for the Droid Incredible, but the call quality was horrible. We have a Verizon tower at work and I can see it from my office. Even while looking directly at it I had to ask for people to repeat stuff. The reception was miserable too...I had no signal in rooms where my colleagues had decent signal.

I had always made out well with Motorola phones, so I exchanged it for a Droid 2 today. I'll miss HTC Sense, but I kind of need the phone to work.
