Why didn't Tab 4 software update work?

I recently updated my Samsung tab 4 7.0 by going to settings and update now. I was connected to the personal hotspot on my phone. The update downloaded without and error messages. Ten, I installed it. The install process seemed to go fine and the phone restarted. However, the tablet is still running Kit Kat. I connected to a wifi source that isn't very strong and it told me I have the most current update. What is going on??

I'm sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure how big the update was. How do I initiate the Lollipop 5.0 update?
