Why Didn't You Get a One X

i went with the GS3 purley on hardware specs.

1800mAh battery vs 2100mAh
1gb ram vs 2 gb ram

close call but the GS3 edged out

Had the One X. Returned it because of Sense, multitasking, and lack of removable storage. Much happier with the GS III

Yeah, every post int he HTC One X forum is in regards to some "issue" someone is having. Lol I would know cause I spent a lot of time there trying to get answers to some of the problems I was having. :(

I really liked its looks but the lack of external storage was a big minus.* And if I recall correctly only 12 out of 16gb were really available. That killed it right there. If a 32gb model were available I probably would've gotten it.

*no support for USB otg either.

Not even 12gb. More like 9.7. This is the only real gripe I have with the One X. Everything else is a non-factor for me. Everyone talks about the removable battery, but who here actually owns a spare? Be honest now!!

Battery was not a factor for me. Only having 9.3 gigs of space kinda weighed in on me. Kinda weird spot to place the charging port. It felt awkward when trying to talk when charging. All in all still a nice phone though.

I had the One X and really liked that phone, but in the end. I'm just a Samsung fan.

I bascially flipped a coin. Same price look and feel the same. I couldn't tell the difference.

Seriously, I went with the removal battery and storage as the deciding factor. I couldn't tell the difference otherwise.

I had the HOX and overall really liked it. Hardware wise I actually really prefer it to the Galaxy S3. But Sense and how it neuters the multitasking ability of the device killed it for me. The camera was an absolute joy to use and probably my favorite I've had on any device I've used.

However, the GS3 is just overall much more of a powerhouse device. Samsung's software features are actually quite appreciated even though I hate the look of touchwiz (covered it up with nova launcher). I also already have a Samsung series 7 laptop and a Sammy smart tv and love how seamlessly they all work together with each other.

HOX is a great device! Just lacks in the hardware dept. I like the extra gig of RAM and TW just works for me for now. I am currently unrooted and I have yet to get sick of TW. Sense is better IMO but its multitasking kills it off for me. Until HTC can get their crap together I may stick with Samsung. Providing updates come quickly! So far The S3 is my favorite phone. Better than my HOX, Evo 3D and OG Evo! Samsung did a great job with this device.

What would I change about the S3? I like a vanilla option without rooting. Better screen is more than welcome. Plus I'd like the S4 (If they have one) remain the same size! Or hell even go back to being a 4.3inch screen! Super LCD2 or something better though!

Again they are both good devices. Just depends on what your needs are. Samsung just happen to fit my needs to best this time around.

Enjoy!

I like the screen on the sgs3 the size is nice also its big but not to huge

I bought yesterday's Best Buy Deal of the Day: a 64gb SanDisk micro sd card ($49.99 with free shippoing) that I will use on my SG3, bringing my storage capability up to 80 gb (well, closer to 70 actual gbs in the practical sense). On the HTC One X, not possible. Oh, I I forgot the extra gig of RAM that other posters have mentioned.

I was so tired of being 2 generations behind with my blackberry that I had to get the latest thing out when i went to buy and that was the S3

I haven't officially gotten the s3 yet (will be in the next few weeks), but the lack of expandable storage is a big deal for me. I have a rather robust music library (over 50 gigs), and I'd rather get it all on the phone rather than in the cloud so I don't burn through as much data.

Lack of micro sd and the battery.... plus I'm like faithful to Samsung... :D

TouchWiz>>>>Sense. Smart Stay. Better camera. HD video at 29 fps on the GS3 vs 23 fps on the HOX.

That's why the GS3 is better. Don't need apps to do what is already resident on the device.
