Why do Gmail and Hangouts only work on my home network?

gMail and Hangouts only work on my home network.

I have an HTC one, circa 2013. Operating system and apps are up to date. I've only recently started using my Gmail account for anything important. I don't get mail notifications when I'm on the cellular network, only on WiFi (the only network I connect to is the one at my house, and this is using the Gmail app.) My other email account works fine, using the phones mail app. Same goes for hangouts, only works at home.

Welcome to Android Central! Is your mobile data otherwise working normally? Are you able to surf and access other web services on mobile data? Google products do not function correctly

I have a HTC one circa 2013. O/s is stock and up to date. The applications in question are up to date. Gmail and hangouts do not function correctly when I'm on the cellular network. I do not receive message notifications. Notifications work fine when I'm on my home WiFi network.(this is the only WiFi network I log into). I have another email account that functions as intended through the phones native mail program. I have no limits set on data, and have no issues pulling content from the internet.

Welcome to Android Central! That's odd. Try wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11848
