Specific font not rendering correctly in browsers

Hello! I am having an issue with a specific font which renders as wingdings on my new LG G3. Please see the attached screenshots showing the issue on Lifehacker.com (Problem exists on all other Kinja sites as well). I have confirmed with Chrome, Firefox and Opera, it's the same for all three. The problem does not exist on my old android phone, which has the same browser versions. Looking into the code, it seems the font in question is Proxima Nova Condensed Regular. Unfortunately, because of this issue the link to see the next page of articles does not even show, so I can only ever read the first page. As I read some of these sites daily, this is a big hindrance for me.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this issue, and how to fix it? Thanks a bunch.

Re: Specific font not rendering correctly in browsers

Very odd. I just went to lifehacker.com using the LG stock browser, and scrolled down slowly while scanning the text and I don't see any funky characters at all.

What carrier are you on? I know that some G3's do not have a stock browser and come with Chrome instead. But, I have Chrome installed (from the Play Store) and went to lifehacker.com again, I don't see anything unusual. I clicked a half dozen articles at random also just to see if they display oddly for certain pages only but everything seems normal.

Re: Specific font not rendering correctly in browsers

I am on Sprint. I had forgotten about the stock browser as I had hidden it. I just tried the stock browser and the text renders normally on it, but is still messed up in Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Does anyone know what would be different about the stock browser from the other three?
