Occasional charge failure

I have had my Droid Turbo with Android 5.1 for about 6 months and recently it has begun to frequently refuse to charge on either the USB or official Verizon wireless charger.

I can set it on the wireless charger and both the charger and phone recognize each other, but in the morning...no charging has taken place.

I can usually force it to accept a charge by restarting the phone while on the charger.

Whassup?

Re: Occasional charge failure

I've noticed it as well. Not good when I wake up in the morning, phone is plugged into the stock charger, my phone isn't charging, and battery life is at 15%. Noticed it after the LP update.

Experiencing the same problem. Verizon sent me a new phone stating that the turbo has been known to have this issue. Have gone through several different USB cords. Over time they all stop charging.

Most Micro USB cables are very much garbage. Unfortunately, paying $5 for a charge cable means you get $5 worth of service out of it. I bought a decent 10' cable, and it lasted less than a week, even though it was pampered... Original shorty 3' Motorola cable charges fine (notwithstanding the slower charging problem introduced with Lollipop).
