Why do i have duplicates of apps and how do i know which to uninstall?

I have duplicates of several apps and can provide a screenshot if needed. My phone has a ridiculous number of apps (over 500) and I don't know how or why. Note: Only a few are duplicates though.

Welcome to Android Central! Where are you seeing the duplicates -- on the homescreen, in the App Drawer, or the Settings>Apps menu?

Modern Android devices come with a lot of preinstalled system apps, and oftentimes many bloatware apps. The Galaxy A32 5G I just got had >400 apps out of the box (including system apps). I think a Pixel phone has around 200-250 apps.
