Why do I have pop up ads for no reason when opening apps?

Pop up ads for no reason when opening apps.

Sometimes when I try to open an app on my HTC 620 (ex. YouTube) a pop up ad will open telling me that my device has been infected telling me to install their app etc (obviously a virus) how do I prevent this from happening?

Probably has to do with an app that you installed. I would do a factory data reset and don't install any apps to see if you still have the same problem
