I set my notifications to only notify me when I get a text, phone call or IM. But it keeps notifying me when I receive an email. I reset it daily. Why? Notifications for emails are even off on my phone, but my gear notifies me. Why??

Same here. More like a weekly basis for me, I have to keep turning off notifications for stock email app (I prefer to only get notified from gmail) and from my podcast app.
I'm pretty resigned to this sort of thing with the watch--it's still pretty beta-y and I think you just have to live with it.

If you turn off sync on your phone you won't get the email notifications. That's what works for me.
Mine also! Can't figure out how to stop it, I talked to Samsung and they said it's gotta be an aftermarket app that causing it I argued but to no avail.
