I have noticed that usually some point in the day I stop receiving my emails from my Comcast email account I setup to receive using the stock email app on the Epic. I check the task manager and its still listed as running and even force a manual refresh on the email app and still it doesn't pull up the new emails. Then I reboot my Epic and then my emails start coming threw again.

BTW, this is not just limited to my Comcast email, I have others setup to be checked and the email app stops everything.

Suggestions?

This seems to be a problem with all POP3 emails. I had the same issues with Cox Cable emails. Switch to K9 email or maildroid from the market. You won't be sorry.

On the other hand, MS exchange works beautifully on the stock email client.

I had the same problem getting my Aol email....I would reboot and get emails from the day before. Even called sprint, they reset everything on their end, that was no help. Saw a post on K9 and decided to try it out. Best download I made, My email is almost instant, two weeks and havent missed an email.

K-9 would NEVER download my email from my pop account unless I went in and told it to.. MailDroid works on my phone for about two days and then stops. I remove and reinstall it and it works again for 2 days before it just stops working. I have given up on both of these programs fo now...

Wow sorry to here that Keith. I downloaded that K9 email app after it was recommended and it was the best thing I ever did. I haven't missed an email at all since doing that. Plus it is a lot more customizable over the stock email app on the Samsung. I never got around to trying MailDroid that was my next move if K9 didn't work

Did you check your setting to make sure it was polling to receive the emails? I noticed if you set the settings and then simply hit your Home screen button to exit it doesn't save the setting. I had to go back out of the program with the Back button to get it to save my settings and all was fine. It works great on grabbing my Comcast email and my wife's on her various school email accounts which is a bonus with their crazy email servers. :)
