Why do I need to setup Voicemail again?

Why did i have to set up my voicemail again on my phone?
Did you recently update the phone? If you accidentally deleted the visual voicemail data or performed a factory reset then the device may have required you to go through the setup steps over again.

I haven't reset the phone or deleted anything lately. Would the verizon mobile app update do anything? That was done earlier this month
