AC Question

I am trying to un-sync and remove the Picasa/Google photos automatically synced to my phone's gallery. They're eating up all my device storage, but like a cancer I can't get rid of, they will not be removed through so easily.

All the videos I look up show phones that have check boxes next to each Sync option in the Sync Settings for my gmail account.

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Accounts-Google, and look for an option for Gallery or Picasa. If you see it there, uncheck or turn off its sync.

FYI, syncing the photos from your Google Photos to the phone's Gallery app shouldn't physically download the full photos. Thumbnails will be created for the synced photos, but each of those should be very small in size. Still, if you have lots and lots of photos in the cloud, the thumbnails can ultimately take up a good chunk of storage.
