Why do my deleted text messages keep coming back?

why do my deleted text messages keep coming back?

I delete at thread of messages and a few minutes later they return. i have to do it two or three times to make sure they dont come back.

Have you tried using a different messaging app like ChompSMS or Textra to see if the issue does it on them?
