Why do videos recorded on my 10 Nexus Samsung only play back sound, no picture?

Video recorded on my 10" Nexus Samsung only plays back sound, no picture

I am recording video, but there is no picture on playback. However I can go to my 7" tablet and play back the same video from PHOTOS without a problem. Recorded videos I took a while back and could play before - now I can't see them either, only hear them. Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Do any recorded videos from anywhere play on the Nexus 10? For example, if you copy a video taken with the 7" tablet over to the Nexus 10 and try to play it, does the same thing happen?

I recorded a short video on the 7" - waited for it to back up - then tried to play it on the 10". No luck. It starts out with the first frame, goes black, and I can only hear audio.

You might want to try flashing the stock firmware: http://m.androidcentral.com/how-manually-upgrade-your-nexus. Find the correct firmware here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

I have the same issue. I *think* it started right after an update for 5.1.1.

Really don't want to reflash. Hoping someone finds a fix or Google releases a bugfix...

I have N10 running stock 5.1.1. And I cannot play video in the Google Photos app. I only get black video, but can here the sound. All my videos works good on other devices.

Same here, but downloaded VLC-player for Android and that works perfectly. Not the ideal solution, but still pretty good.
