Why does a picture of the messaging icon or a contact pop up on my home screen?

[Android Central Question]

Hello I have a Galaxy s9. Within the last couple day I noticed that when i receive a text message, instead of it just showing the number of new messages I have on the app icon, I now receive a pop up of the messaging app icon or a picture of who sent the text on my home screen over my other apps. I tried going through all the settings and have not been able to figure out why. I get the preview on my lock screen which I want, i just dont want that additional pop up. Please help

To turn it off, Go setting >advance feature >smart pop up view toggle off.
