My Moto Z play worked well up until recently when using Android auto. Now it crashed every time i use it. I tried removing and reinstalling Android auto and just recently did a factory reset on my phone and it still crashes. I also have a Galaxy 8 work phone that works fine with Android auto in my car.

Welcome to Android Central! Does your car have Android Auto built into its own screen, or are you using it on the phone screen?
It's possible that some other app you installed recently is interfering. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to tell, since Safe Mode would also disable Android Auto. You may have to uninstall apps one by one to see if Android Auto starts working again.
