Why does Android keep re-creating deleted, non-system, folders on a SD card?

Android keeps re-creating deleted, non-system, folders on SD card.

Last week my phone (Photon Q Android 4.1.2) suddenly decided it needed to scramble the directory on the 16 gig Micro SD.

I was able to use Recuva to recover everything important. Then in Windows (7 x64) I did a FULL format to wipe the entire card.

Now for some reason my phone keeps re-creating some of the few folders that were on the card after it got scrambled. Just the folders, empty, no files.

I've tried deleting them on the phone with ES Explorer, File Expert and the native file manager. I've also tried deleting them on the phone from Windows when it's plugged in and I've unmounted the card and plugged it into a reader to delete those folders.

I also used the phone to reformat the card.

But like a bad zombie movie the phone keeps putting those deleted folders back onto the card.

The folder data *should not* be on the card after I did a full, not quick, format in a card reader with Windows. Android must have that data stashed somewhere in the phone's memory or built in "SD card".

How do I stop this crazy thing?!

Are those the system folders you are talking about? Like those starting with " . "?

I said in the title, non-system.

They were folders I had created to store files and for some reason my phone loves some of those folders soooo much it keeps resurrecting them from beyond the digital afterlife, despite the "nuke and pave" of a full format that should destroy all traces.

I deleted them just prior to starting this thread. Just checked the card and they're baaaaaack!
