Why does AUX music output sounds so bad?

I just picked up a G2 to replace my broken HTC One M7.

I love the phone but when I connect it to my car stereo using an Aux cable, I hear hissing and interference during quiet portions of music. I do not hear it using headphones. The cable is high quality and with my HTC the sound was flat out amazing, pure clear output with additional noise. I connected my wife's Iphone 5s and my daughters Galaxy S4 using the cable and they sounded fine also.

Any thoughts or ideas on this? Really mars an otherwise fantastic phone experience....

Hissing and interference is usually due to either Ground level differences between devices (you'll notice it worsens if you connect it to a car charger, for instance) or 'cross talk' due to the cable length/impedance and/or insulation. It can be that the phone connector is badly grounded or the insulation is faulty, or that your cable is too long for that particular phone's electrical system.

I'd suggest you try a different, shorter cable or try pushing it through (it might not be making good contact).

I have a Bluetooth receiver connected to my car aux and i still get perfect sound
