Entering a Word in Words with Friends starts Google Play Music

When I hit the button to enter a word in Words with Friends, the Google Play Music apps starts playing whatever song is queued up. Started a couple weeks ago.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Google Play Music, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now try again.

I have the same problem. Clearing cache did nothing, nor did removing and reinstalling both apps. Very annoying.

This same thing happens randomly on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014).

Same thing has been happening to me for the last week or so. I'm not sure how this is even possible...why would WWF have permissions to kick off another unrelated app directly like that?

This solution only works once. If you play music again then WWF will start music again when you play a word. Is this an android bug or a WWF bug?

Happening to my Samsung Galaxy Core 4 as well. I just got it yesterday. My previous phone (Motorola Razr M) didn't have this issue, so maybe it's a Samsung thing?

I thought I was going crazy. This started a couple weeks ago on my HTC One. Just got the Galaxy S6Edge and the issue remains. So annoying. I left feedback for WWF in the Play Store, but no response yet.

Same story here. Even started with my s6 edge. Try clearing the queue in Google Play Music. It just worked for me.

I suspect they'll have to update WWF to fix this. I can't post links yet but search for "android respecting audio focus" to find the Blogspot article on how to properly handle audio focus. I've built apps were I pause and resume music around playing a sound effect or video within my app. Perhaps they are resuming regardless of whether it was actually playing or not in the first place.

Same here, galaxy s3 and Double Twist music app starts right after I close ad after wwf play. Sent email to Zynga, no response.
