Why does everything Android appear to be better than a Sony device?

AC Question

Hi guys. Been collecting your podcasts in the UK for the last few months and although you mention other devices your main advice appears to revolve around the Nexus 6p, Samsung latest and greatest offering and the Pixel C. I was wondering why you avoid Sony, particularly when you don't appear to be over enamoured with Pixal C and the Sony phone cameras should be worth comparisons with the newcomers. Steve R.

Welcome to Android Central.

Although a few writers are from the UK, the majority are from the US. Sony devices are difficult to find here in the US. None of the carrier stores even sell any. If I wanted a Sony device, I'd have to order it online. I couldn't go to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, or even Best Buy to get one.

A good example — the Sony Xperia Z5c (a phone i'd be very interested in buying) was released in September 2015. It wasn't sold in the US until February 2016, and even then there was a very limited supply.

You can buy it from Amazon in the US starting this Wednesday (March 30, 2016) — six months after release.

That ducks for you guys. I have a Z2 Tablet which is so quick compared to the many other makes. I have no reason to upgrade to a Z4 as the Z2 with a Lenovo BT keyboard and BT mouse work so well but I would think a Z4 would compare well with the Pixel C. I bought a Z2 phone because it was cheap while I waited for the Z5 to launch, but again the Z2 is hard to give up! thanks for the reply and the podcasts, remember your Brit audience.

It absolutely ducks. I'm a sucker for Sony products, even though their business practices go against everything I stand for :P

Would love to have more Sony phones to go with my PlayStation and Sony TV and Sony cameras and Sony receiver and Sony speakers lol.
