Why does it keep saying "Refreshing SIM data"

My phone keeps saying "Refreshing SIM data" At the bottom of my screen how do I fix this? It messes my network and connection

Welcome to Android Central! The SIM itself might be faulty -- ask your carrier if you can test a replacement SIM card.

it may be one of two, first :faulty sim card, second: faulty sim reader on the phone.
sp check another sim card on the same phone to make sure.
