Clear your system cache. That's known to be one of the fixes for increased Android system usage.

System cache clearing has nothing to do with android system usage. It will only delte all user, background activity. You will need to shut down android system apps manualy or with a 3th party app. :)

Uh no. Never use a Task killer. We have articles here saying why that is a bad idea. And that's the idea, deleting the background activity.

The system cache partition holds various temporary system data. Since some of that data can occasionally cause the system to get wonky (sorry for the extra-technical term;)), that's why wiping the cache can help in certain situations. It's not about background activity, unless you're referring to cached system data.

As chanchan05 mentioned, it's inadvisable to use a task killer app. If there's a system app that you never use (like TalkBack, for instance), it's reasonable to Disable it -- but you have to be sure that Disabling it won't impact other activities.

I posted these from my computer and I'm really hoping all of these went through. Sorry if it's a mess as transporting them over to my pc was quite a hassle and I do not know if all of these screenshots are in order or in relation to each other based on the date they were taken on. A few notes: my phone drains battery about 1 every 15-20 mins when the screen is turned off, always on is on, and it is also connected to wifi. I lose about 1% every 2-5 minutes when i'm watching youtube or playing games. I think that I shouldn't be losing my battery this fast but the screenshots should explain something. Thank you!

P.S ill post some screenshots showing my battery life while I am using the off (from the last time I turn my screen to on to when I turn the screen off). Since I leave my phone in my pocket for a majority of the time, I think it is affecting all the results and the screenshots. I'll update soon!

To be honest, the rate of battery drain you're describing doesn't sound that unusual. If you're losing 1% every 2-5 minutes while watching YouTube or playing games, that means the phone would last somewhere between 200 minutes (3 hrs 20 min) and 500 minutes (8 hrs 20 min), assuming you were doing that activity continuously. The latter number is great, and even though the former number doesn't seem great, it's consistent with what I get on my Nexus 6P (which has a 3450 mAh battery).

Also, if you're losing 1% every 15-20 min on idle, that means you'd get 1500 minutes (25 hrs) to 2000 minutes (33 hrs 20 min) of standby, which isn't that bad.

Okay that's great, I was scared I did something wrong or my device was just "bad". I am throwing quite a bit at this phone so I was expecting some drain. Thanks for your time, greatly appreciated! If I have any more battery issues, i'll be sure to inform you. Thank you :)
