Why does my device show system update but still runs KitKat?

Update option showed, but disappeared the next day

I saw an option to update my nexus 7 2012 to android 5.0, but i coulnt update then and when i connected to wifi the next day, the device showed system up to date but it still runs 4.4.4 KitKat. please help

Welcome to Android Central! Where are you located? If it's the 5.0 update, it's possible they pulled it in favor of 5.0.1, which will probably roll out relatively soon.

I'm from India. I'm still waiting for the update and tried factory reset too... still no updates..!!
