Why does my HTC one have only 5 minutes of battery life?

I've had the phone for ~6 months and initially the battery would last all day with no problem. Now, it has to stay on the charger at all times if I want to text or make calls. I've disabled all apps, GPS, bluetooth and Wifi (it's like having a 90's phone). I haven't dropped it, gotten it wet and it has lived in its otter case since day one. What can I do?

It is not normal for it to only last 5 minutes. You unfortunately have a faulty battery. Just to make sure, you can charge it up on a different charger (to ensure it's fully charged) and it it still only lasts 5 minutes, there's no question about it. It can only be a hardware problem.
