Why does my Internet browser open with ads every time I unlock the screen?

Internet browser opens with ads every time i unlock screen

I just updated the Android OS on my galaxy s4 and ever since then, every time i unlock my screen and occasionally just randomly the Internet browser opens with an advert about teeth. I can't seem to disable it no matter what i do and it's driving me mad. Please help! !

Welcome to Android Central! You may have installed an app that carries adware with it. You could try installing something like Lookout's Ad Network Detector & Scanner, but I'm not sure how well it works for popup browser ads. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the behavior goes away.

You could also try going to the App Manager, selecting the browser, and Clearing Cache/Data, then Force Stop.

I started having exactly this problem a couple of days ago. Every time I would unlock the phone, I'd get a popup ad in the stock browser (even though I have Chrome set as my default browser). One of the most common ads had to do with teeth. At other times, I'd also randomly see popup ads at the top or bottom of my screen.

Installing and scanning with at least 5-6 of the most popular malware removal and ad-network detection tools in Play Store didn't detect anything unusual.

Finally, turns out the problem was caused by AdBlockPlus. As soon as I force-stopped this app, the popups also stopped. I then uninstalled it completely, and haven't had any problems with popup ads since.

I don't remember where I originally downloaded ABP, but since it's not on the Play Store anymore, I may have downloaded it from a dodgy site.

I know a little bit late but I have the problem already, i've tried the adblock, but no success... I have detected the ad network app but on app 60 or something the app crashed....

I don't know what to do now... Anyone if you know. Please help!

Yes, Clear Cache and Data for your browser in your App Manager, and report the malware - for that is what it is - to Google.

I had this problem since yesterday and i couldnt find the source, but i kept searching and found an app installed but WITHOUT A NAME this raised suspicion when i force stopped it everything went back to normal thats when i uninstalled.

Be careful when installing apps some of them try to hide as this one i got.

Dude thanks a lot as you said I downloaded the go security software and I scanned popped out virus I hit uninstall said adminstaror so I deactivated it and uninstalled it and it worked no more of this crap , again the a lot dude this was pain in the a**

Hey guys, i got it

I have a solution, I'm using samsung i9060, i have also same problem.
Every time i unlock the screen web site appears and it have full of ads,
So I'm checking in device administrator (in setting, security, device administrator) it show some app that have no name just shown us black screen and i am deactivated in device administrator and also uninstall that app in application manager it shows in at the top of the all applications in download tab just uninstall it. That's it.

THANKS SO MUCH I FOUND THAT THIS WAS MY PROBLEM TOO! I just uninstalled and boom, it worked.

I went to Settings >Apps >insid4 there I found an app without a name, just uninstall it.

FIX!

Install malware bytes on your phone give it a scan!
when it say how much malware uninstall it from down bellow and boom no virus!
I got rid of 2 viruses using that program!
