why does my LG G3 phone work, but screen does not?

Phone worked fine and then suddenly the screen started to fade and went black. Now won't come back on. Can receive phone calls because it rings. Shows notification lights at top, but screen is black. Can't restart because can't see the screen . please help if possible. It is my daughter's phone and she is quite upset. Wasn't dropped and didn't get wet.

Welcome to Android Central! Regardless of the cause, the screen seems to have failed, and will need replacement.

You've already tried pulling the battery for 10 seconds, then reinserting it and powering back on?
