Android Central Question

I have a LG V30 VS996 4.4.78-perf+

While listening to Pandora or DoggCatcher (pod casts) the media volume will lower by itself. In other words, when I first press play the media volume is the usual loud (the V30 has a pretty loud speaker) and as I am listening to the song/pod cast the sound volume will automatically lower itself to like around 75 percent volume. If I press the pause button and then wait about three seconds and press play the sound will start off the normal loud and then once again automatically lower itself.

When the sound level lowers I go into the sound setting and I can see that the volume slider is still at the full right setting (max volume) however the actual sound level is low. Again I press pause and then play and the sound starts off at high and then a few seconds later the sound get low again.

I have determined that it is NOT the volume buttons accidentally being presses (like in a pocket) because I have observed this behavior when the phone is in my hand and I am looking at it and NOT touching the buttons.

Can anyone PLEASE help?!?!?!

THANKS!!!

Sorry for the delay...I had to sign in using a different login.

When I play a video, the volume from the loud speaker will start off very loud (the LG V30 speakers are very loud...almost too loud) and then after about 3 to 7 seconds the volume output will slowly lower to about 60 percent level and stay there.

The volume slider bar does not move...it stays at 100 percent it is only that the speaker output will lower.

I am not using the earbud headsets or bluetooth...just the loud speakers.

If I press pause and wait about 10 seconds then the volume output will lower by itself.

So I have determined that it is:

-NOT the case (or pocket) causing the volume down button being pushed because when the output lowers it will do so when the phone is untouched on the table so I press the volume up button will not do anything the slider shows 100 percent and when I press the down button the output volume will lower and when I press the up button the output will increase but it will increase to the 60 percent output but the output not go up to the very loud.

-NOT effected by power plug in or out

-NOT effected by Safe Mode (volume also lowers by itself on safe mode)

-NOT effected by powering off then on again

-NOT due to different apps...volume lowers by itself regardless if the media is played on Doggcatcher, Pandora, Chrome (when watching videos)

-NOT effected by cashe wipe

This has been doing this for about 4 weeks now!!!

This is VERY FRUSTRATING so...any help...PLEASE?!?!?!?

That sounds like some kind of issue with either hardware or firmware, since it happens in Safe Mode as well. Have you tested to see if it also happens with wired or Bluetooth headphones/speakers? If it doesn't, then I'd wonder if there's a problem with the phone's speaker. If it does happen, then it might be a firmware glitch with the sound management. In either case, it may be worth contacting LG for warranty repair/replacement (if it's still covered).

Yes I confirmed that the volume lowers itself even when playing on Bluetooth so it does not seem to be a problem with the hardware.

All apps that I have used does the same thing... even the speaker phone feature.

This is SUPER ANNOYING!!!

Any suggestions try to identify the software problem with this phone? It used to work great and I was very happy with this phone until this issue started about 3 weeks ago! Thanks again!
