Why does my Lock button on my samsung galaxy j3 stopped working

the phone is a little over 2 weeks old and the lock button on the side stopped working. I can force restart it still but it does not work. The phone will not fix it self. I also uninstalled all of the apps I just got and then restarted it and it has not worked at all.
There was a little bit of water when I opened up the back of it. I wiped it up and took out the battery and dried it better but i put the battery back in a it still does not work.

It's a hardware failure, the button has to be replaced. Since it's in warranty, the carrier should repair or replace the phone.
