Why does my Nexus 7 screen keep saying connect to your charger which it is.nothing happens?

nexus 7 screen keeps saying connect to your charger which it is..nothing happens

I have tried rebooting..still won't charge. Does it need a new battery?

Most likely, take it to someone who knows about that stuff you don't wanna buy a new battery and The problem persists

Could need to replace the micro USB (the 3.5 mm headphone jack is also connected to it).
Fairly simple & cheap
